Helicopter Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Frequented Southern California Beach
An aircraft soaring near a well-attended southern California shoreline abruptly began spiraling uncontrollably, finally descending rapidly and smashing into a row of palm fronds as spectators observed.
Videos posted online show the helicopter starting to spin above Huntington Beach then descending in the direction of the edge of the coast, where it gets stuck amidst palm trees and a staircase near the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Update
Local firefighters stated five individuals were rushed to the hospital involving two who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the incident on Saturday.
Three people on the road were harmed. Details on their wounds were still under review.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.
